I have several favorite bands. And while the top spot is forever fluctuating between a lot of those bands, old and new, there is one that always seems to remain constant. U2 is one of those bands who I’m always in the mood to hear. No matter the occasion, no matter my mood, they have a song, or an album, ready to go for me. Their story is incredible, as well as inspiring. Funny to think that Bono was almost revoked as being the lead singer, due to his inability to sing properly. Oh how things change. I love that.

I always really liked U2. My dad was a big fan, and I was familiar with the songs I’d hear on the radio. I was watching their dvd, Rattle and Hum, a few years back and when I heard the live version of “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, I remember being totally blown away. I started going back and listening to all of their records, and totally fell in love. I then read their autobiographical book, U2 By U2. Fascinating stuff.

WarThe Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua TreeAchtung Baby, and beyond… U2 are my number one, man.

The Rattle and Hum version of U2’s “Sunday Bloody Sunday”

An amazing interpretation of one of my favorite songs ever written.

Originally from U2’s album “War”

One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums. “New Years Day” off of U2’s 1983 album, “War”. Larry Mullen Jr. is the man, Bono’s hair is so bad it’s awesome, Adam Clayton is ridiculously cool, and Edge is a musical legend.

This song is absolutely incredible. It does to me what music is supposed to do. It makes me feel something. Something strong, every time I hear it. I hope you have a song that does that for you too, and I hope this song makes you feel like it does me.
